Here you'll find definitions to many of the terms used throughout the site.
A unit for measuring the volume of water, is equal to the quantity of water required to cover 1 acre to a depth of 1 foot and is equal to 43,560 cubic feet or 325,851 gallons. The term is commonly used in measuring volumes of water used or stored.
Salt River Project
Flood Control
Amount of space above conservation space that is being provided for flood control and dam safety.
Top of Conservation Space
SRP's storage capacity plus the cities with additional storage capacity resulting from the raising of Roosevelt Dam.
Joint Funding Agreement
The cost of field, maintenance, and analytical work directly related to the site is shared between the U.S. Geological Survey and the Salt River Valley Users’ Association.
