The Verde River near Clarkdale river flow and precipitation gages are located 5 miles northwest of Clarkdale at an elevation of 3,500 feet and has a drainage area of 3,503 square miles. Flow measurements began June 18, 1915. The highest recorded flow was on February 20, 1993 when the flow peaked at 53,200 cubic feet per second. The precipitation gage was installed in February 1985. The highest precipitation event since that time occurred on February 12, 2005 when 3.26 inches of precipitation fell.
